My goal for this project was to create a brand identity showcasing the history of arcades, whilst maintaining a modern vibe. My main objective was to make something nostalgic whilst also being open to all ages.

To combat this I made sure to include a vivid colour palette, reflecting the 80’s and the idea of ‘retro’, whilst giving it a more modern tone in terms of simplicity. My hope is that this would be eye catching to my target audience and give off the impression of being a lively and fun activity.

When idealizing my design for a logo, the inclusivity of a sharp, edged look was very important as it reflects on a time of pixels and technology, extremely crucial to the design of my museum. 

This also allowed me to understand and draw inspiration from media such as arcade and video game fonts, in turn producing a logo that can spark a feeling  of  ‘nostalgia’.
